Great post, Sebastian! Super informative and inspiring for how citizens can be involved in local politics.

I hear you on factions... I wrote a post a couple months ago on the conflict on my community board that included some people quitting, others getting fired, and news articles about shady financial dealings.

I read this with interest - Mobilization of collective effort to attain and apply leverage for systemic change is one of my main areas of concern. I wonder if in cases that are particularly divisive and controversial, someone like you might make use of a temporarily anonymous "assurance contract" framework in order to reveal people's true preferences and find consensus positions. That's what i'm trying to enable with a project called Spartacus.app. If you're interested in how it might help you, let me know.
